Do sedo buy domains for your own account?

Hi aqls,

Sedo does not buy or sell domain names. We are purely a marketplace through which domains can be sold or bought.

Sedo has purchased domains in the past, as they were relevant to our business (such as domain.co.uk).

Kind regards,

Brad

PRSS shows the same really just the odd couple ie. gifts.org.uk :)

I can't see how gifts.org.uk complements their domain parking business, so they do do it then.

It must be tempting for them to look at the domains they look after and go out and reg a whole load for themselves, or buy up all the top performers from us.

Would that be conflict of interest or just good business?

Hi everyone,

Gifts.org.uk's WHOIS information was changed to Sedo's during a transfer. The transfer agent did alert the new owner to update the WHOIS information, which has not yet been done. However, Sedo does not own the domain gifts.org.uk.

Kind regards,

Brad

Well, given that the .uk transfer process requires a signed letter of authority from both old and new registrants, that is some mistake to have been made

gifts.org.uk is interesting in many respects.

1, sedo is currently getting any revenue - because at the bottom of the page it has that message of "if you are seeing this etc" which means the revenue is not being credited to anyones account except sedo

2. it has a delayed forwarding process - is this within google terms of advertising? should we all be doing this?

3. it has normal google ads and other ads on the page on top of the usual sedo ads. is this within google terms of advertising? should we all be doing this?

Hi everyone,

I cannot actually say why the domain is not entered into an account. Let it be a reminder to make sure all domains are listed in your Sedo account in order to receive revenue.

The domain itself is actually registrar-parked, meaning that the landing page will show a bit differently. However, this is something that is only offered to registrars.

Kind regards,

Brad
