Hi,

I have a domain that is suspended because I forgot to renew (11th Sept).

I am trying to renew it before it drops and it is under my account on nominet.

Can anyone advise the best way to get it renewed without paying the £96 nominet seem to want to do it? I don't have my own TAG.

Would a transfer to another account help with this?

Any help is appreciated.

Who is the domain currently registered with? Should be able to do it with them?

Sorry it is with GoDaddy apparently but they are struggling to find it and it isn't in my account.

Have you access to the Nominet account that it's registered under?

If not perhaps try this link ...

https://secure.nominet.org.uk/auth/access-your-account.html

I do, all my domains are showing in my nominet account.

A group of them are not showing in my GoDaddy account (which nom shows as "Registered through Nominet Accredited Registrar: : GODADDY - http://uk.godaddy.com ")

I am struggling with this as GoDaddy can't get me to the domain/s to renew them and I don't want to pay the nominet fees, but struggling to find a different way of getting them renewed without paying the big nom fees.

What Darren said. It's probably your easiest and least expensive option. If you want to release to my TAG ( CREATIVEMIX ) I'd be happy to renew it for you and then release to wherever you want it.

Thank Sean, I'll send you a pm.

Just to add, if Nominet charge the same to release ten names as they do for one, now would be a good time to move any names from GoDaddy that you're having problems with, will save you paying again in the future.

Recommend any good domain hosts? After this I wouldn't mind reviewing where I hold my portfolio tbh.

I have sent a pm as well by the way, thanks

Quite a few registars do this with suspended domains to then recover for a fee similar to Nominets. Don't know for sure, but Daily are very good and given that a few prolific domainers renew their domains a day before they drop, there must only be a renewal charge, nothing else (assumption).

Have to be able to change the tag to move it. Obviously can't through godaddy but if you've got access to your Nominet account then the tag change / registrar change is £12.

Takes about an hour for the full process of moving to daily after the tag change and you activating the transfer in through your daily account control panel. Includes payment for renewal vi paypal/card.

Generally speaking, using US-based registrars like Nodaddy is not a good idea, because they don't handle ccTLDs properly.
This is true not only for .uk but .ca too.
