I always thought the ranking (most value) of domain extensions went like this:

    .com
    .net
    .info
    .biz
    .org
    .co.uk ...etc

Am I right, or am I wrong

Yes IMO .co.uk is higher up than .biz and probably higher than .info

I think it depends on the location of yr market and what your after. if its a uk market and your looking for direct type ins then .co.uk comes after .com for me.

Just to add to that, I see no value in

    .info
    .biz
    .org

I cant even think of any large sites that use .info or .biz and I would only associate .org with organisations like w3.org mozilla.org redcross.org. So of no commercial value.

.co.uk would come second for me,

    .com
    .co.uk
    .net

Those are the three I aim for when brand building. If it's keywords you're after then I suppose going all the way down to biz is fine it's a great keyword.

personally i dont look further than
    .com
    .co.uk
(.com is truely the only global extension)
.net - probably but sounds like a ISP
    .biz - a business
    .org - charity
    .info - .......

i think basically the worlds not interested in what everone is doing. more interesting is whats happening locally - i think theres a lot of value in the local domain extensions - language is still a barrier

only if you develop - otherwise .co.uk, .com and other local sites will gain market share blocking you entrance to market

so apple.org at £7000 ish its not mega money compared to apple.com or propablly what apple,co.uk would fetch if not a registered trade mark

but money is money - on a reg fee thats a good return

I registered a whole bunch of .info names just over 24 hours ago (all verbs).

Okay, I'm not expecting masses of type ins, but I've already had hits and 2 clicks (on accepts.info and believes.info). Not bad for names that are not even in the search engines yet.

BTW: RegFly are knocking .info out at $1.79 to members (£1 domain names)!
