Hey Unet ( rob ) from London

I usually prowl on a few other forums but thought i would like to join here as i have been "lurking" for some time

I am not a full time domainer but manage to make about 100k a year flipping and developing ( that means putting a template on a site and then flipping )

I have owned a few .co.uk's for approx 12 years or so ( i have owned unet.co.uk for about 11 years from fresh )

i am nearing 40 in a few months ( but still feel 20 ) wife, 3 kids and the usual stuff round my neck. I have a good life i suppose and enjoy domaining.

getting tired of DNF and DP for all the usual reason and want to look at other avenues

I assume no association with the recent sale of unet.com? In any case dependant on its use you could be sittin on a nice domain there! I think unet.com sold to a company in Russia... hmmmm...

okay and my first story was that i was offered a huge sum of money, ( more that unet.com went for ) about 8 years ago by a phone company, that was looking for a brand name................and i did not take it

Hey Rob, wleocme to Acorn, I know what you mean about DP - the noise there has increased a lot over the last few years, I wish I had registered a few domains 11 years ago.

Do you work from home?
I'm being particularly unproductive just now with the kids on holidays and my son at home all day.

Hey Scott,

Dp's terrible now, the should charge a small fee i think just to get rid of a few people ( sorry a few thousand people ). Half term my favorite

- i just packed them all off to the inlaws ( dont you just love the cherubs ). I hope they send me a postcard. I sometimes work from home, i have a couple of interests in govt funding and bid writing so i have to go into the office a few days a week. Do a lot of people work from home here? I dont think i could work from home as my wife would want me to do things like.............decorating or handyman stuff ( yuk )

Rob: Good post about widgets - you got him with his trousers well and truly down!!! - its was one of the best and funniest threads i have seen in ages.

( if anyone has not read it - check out robs post history, it will be worth it )

your right about being to many "robs" - "unet" is fine for now, i will sound like a robot from a b movie.

just a note: but I have had more "real" welcomes from a "smaller" forum than a paid one - and the people that responded did not do it for their post numbers so thanks ( and now i sound wet

lol - yep thats right! And I definately think we all have enough of them!

Hey Rich,

I mostly just flip them to be honest: got a games site called snesclassicss.com and a portfolio of gaming type domians - flipped subscriptions.net and offers.net for 40k last month so that ok.

got a few LLL.coms that are leased out plus a raft of .coms that sit in parked or adsense templates.

I have invested in .asia is the only way to make some money in this game is to be in it right from the start. ( other may disagree )
