Hey All,

I’ve been working on something on and off for a couple years now, and I’ve finally got something to show for it, (with the help of Claude), I was hoping a couple of you might check it out, and give me some feedback.

I’m not expecting it to be fantastic, it’s running on low-cost hardware so may be a little slow to load, and I know it’s likely missing some features that other similar platforms offer (WB, BL, etc..) but it’s a starting point for me to improve, and is currently in beta development, so anything could change.

I present NameChase, it’s invite only at the moment, but if you want to take a look, behind the ‘pay wall’, it’s currently free to for all plans, you just have to email me (please don’t DM, I don’t get notified) and I’ll add you, no passwords needed.

Feel free to give me honest feedback, even if it’s bad feedback, as the only way to improve it, and possibly make it viable as a project, is to make it what people want.

Daniel - aka NameChase

@Helmuts if I’ve put this in the wrong place, can you move it for me, I’m thinking it should have gone in Domain Tools 😅

Good morning Daniel, this seems to be perfect!! Anyways > lands on the frontpage so everyone can see it.

Love it!! Looks great, and super neat.

All the success!!

Ok, so over the weekend I worked on some advanced search options, the simpler ones are still there, but you can now do a search like `*mug(s) | *cup(s)` and it will find all the domains that end in mug, mugs, cup, cups in a single search.

I’ve rearranged what’s shown on the columns, versus the information panel, in preparation for the next big update, adding some actual metrics, and having the domain automatically update, rather than on clicking.

This is starting to look good. Good skills. And super responsive to feedback. Hope it does well !
Thanks @dee, my aim is to make this not only easy to use, but a modern interface that’s usable on any device, and respond to feedback, within 24 hours.

I might not be able to implement a feature request, or deal with an issue in that timeframe, but at least an acknowledgement at minimum.

The metrics might take a little while longer, it’s blocked by key wording, and that’s gonna be a bigger task than I’d hoped.

I’m trying to avoid things like `injplumbing’ becoming ‘in, j, plumbing’ but instead just key wording with ‘plumbing’

Other things I’d like it to do is deal with plurals, so ‘plumbers’ becomes ‘plumber, plumbers’ and place names, are marked accurately (OS OpenData)

I’d also like domains that are in foreign language, such as ‘jakwydawacmniejwuk.co.uk’ which is ‘How to spend less in UK’ in polish, are tagged Polish

So after some work, I’ve got key wording live on the site, it’s a multi stage process, and uses three different segmentation engines to decide on the split, with a manual review queue for splits it can’t decide on.

One of the major stumbling blocks was names, and place names, so needed to feed that into the algorithm, along with brand names etc…

It's been a busy week. First, the bad news: a database schema change broke everything early on, which was a terrible start and put a hold on other work while we dealt with the complexities of fixing it live in beta. That said, we still managed to ship some solid new features.

- Advanced search filters are now available directly from the search bar. Hover over the ? icon on the right of the search bar to see the syntax.
- We've adjusted which columns show in the droplist table. This information was always available by opening the detail panel, but we felt some of these datapoints deserved to be seen inline instead of requiring a click.
- Keywording is live. Domain names are now automatically broken into their likely keyword parts, so names that used to split oddly now read cleanly and make sense at a glance.
- Metrics have started. We now show Google search volume on the droplist, with more data sources coming over the next few weeks. It's filterable, and the expanded row shows a small line graph of historic search volume. One limitation for now: my API access is on a zero-spend account, so Google itself only returns rough numbers rather than precise ones — rather than pretend more precision than the data actually has, I've bucketed the numbers for display. I'm hoping to improve that over the next couple of weeks, though I believe it needs real ad spend behind the account to unlock proper precision — which is also why Google CPC isn't in yet.

Hi, if you would like a free API for DNForum's SLD checker (check in how many TLDs a domain name is registered) - just let us know :)
