Looking For Links into a Home Broadband Site

I'm looking to get some links in to a home broadband site of mine. I can write you a unique blog article about any topic you want related to home broadband, so you can some nice free and unique content for your blog, and I get a link to my site.

In general I am now looking for enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable people to work with for joint promotion of websites in the retail, fashion, broadband and technology spaces.

Newbies are also welcome as long as you are dedicated and can produce quality copy. I am also happy to give my opinion on domain investment related issues in return for you helping me a bit with promotion. Do get in touch if you are interested.

Have to agree the snide and nasty comments are going over the top now it comes across as just bullying.
Give the guy a break if you don't like his threads use the ignore feature. Constructive criticism fine but lately a few hear seem to be going beyond that and taking any chance to have a pop.

You may see this thread and think it's great idea to link to his site in return for his advice. Do this at your own risk, having been in the SEO game for years I personally would never ever do this and would strongly advise you not to.

Could you explain how him writing a nice article for someone's site and having a link to his site in it could cause harm to the site with the article on?

In my opinion I just wouldn’t risk linking to a site that is likely to be penalised when Google finally works out that he has multiple sites that all look the same, all cross linked in the same details.

Duplicate articles, no original content, all websites the same, dubious link building practises. I personally wouldn't risk it, but sense he's targeting the naive/newbies anyway.

Totally agree.

This is where Acorn Domains is going wrong. Acorn is supposed to be a community and things like this should be called out and newbies warned.

Same goes for the blanket ban on comments in sales threads, which is fine when people are being upfront and honest about a domain. But what about the threads where people are blatantly trying it on? The threads where people are trying to sell domains that are misspellings yet not pricing them as such?

When I joined this forum, it was full of people willing to give helpful advice. I'd hate to join now, it's just a list of sales threads where a lot of what's offered seems to be waiting for a 'greater fool' to come along.

On the upside, I'm sure our new admin is aware of all these issues and hopefully Acorn can become, or at least go some way to becoming the community it once was.

Still don't get it.

If he was writing an article for a web site, even if it's identical to lots of others. How would this one article affect a web site? I can see it doing no good if it was the same content but I can't see it doing any harm.

Why would he spend lots of time and effort to penalise his own site, he's obviously aware of what's good and what's not as he's been a member here for ages.

It might not, but it's not going to bring any benefit to the person's website in question but the potential is there that it could harm it. They'd be effectively linking into what is a really poor PBN that is a multitude of almost exact looking sites, all interlinking with each other, very thin on content and offering very little value to users.

Hi Caz,

It is a fact that the way all his sites are set up can lead to many if not all of them being penalised by Google. That is obviously not his intention, still the methods he is using to not only create the sites, but to crosslink/build links to them has a very high chance of picking up a penalty in the future. I have seen it happen to many of the same kind of sites. Completely de-indexed overnight.

There are too many negative footprints involved including:

- The same template/theme on all sites
- Registered to the same owner
- Set up on the same hosting
- Many links from each site to others in his "network"

When/If Google does decide to mass ban all the sites, there *may* be a chance that sites that also have been linking to his network will be seen as part of the problem and also have action taken against them.

It is Risk vs Reward really. One piece of free content in return for linking to a bad neighborhood of sites, really does not sound worth it to me.
