Hi everyone,
I’m currently optimizing my website for better SEO performance, and I noticed that some external links might be affecting my loading speed. One of the main outbound links I’m using is to Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/

Does adding a backlink to high-authority sites like this help with SEO, or could it slow down my page? Also, should I use nofollow or dofollow for such links to keep my rankings safe?

Would love to hear what strategies you all use when linking to authoritative platforms for SEO purposes.

2 main factors that add to the load (apart from the hosting setup): size of images and all the different scripts webmasters use (analytics, adsense, facebook like/share boxes etc)

check your site with: https://tools.pingdom.com/ .. what numbers do you get with it? .. also, I would issitially check it with disabled caching and performance plugins (help getting broader picture).. share the results url here, if you wish
