see - christmas toys - Yahoo! Search Results

More than 1000 hits in less than 24 hours - hopefully I can keep it there for next year.

Sod's law indeed Stephen, from what I hear the crazy season has dropped off in the last couple of days, I'm going to be doing my best to make sure I have a bumper silly month next year, roll on xmas '09

Hi Stephen, did you do any specific work to get ranked on Yahoo or did you just discover that you had the number 1 spot when the traffic started coming through? Just curious as I always see limited traffic from Yahoo.

Nothing specific - just noticed the huge traffic spike! I have noticed that quite a few of my keyword domains do well in Yahoo - but as you say the traffic isn't really there but every little helps of course.

It did rank well on Google earlier but probably because it had the initial boost you seem to get for keyword domains.

Damn, I had never thought to check my fishing/camping related domains on other search engines like Yahoo, I only usually check Google for searches, how comparable are Yahoo and Google traffic wise?

I have bivvy/org/uk and bivi/org/uk on page one of Google.co.uk for the terms "bivvy" and "bivi", but bivvybag/co/uk is on page 12 for the term "bivvybag", and nowhere to be seen for the term "bivvy bag" with a space in it, I thought it would have been higher than the other 2 with it being a .co.uk

I just checked them on Yahoo search, and for the term, "bivvy", it shows bivvybag.co.uk is bottom of page one, for "bivvy bag" and "bivvybag" it's position 1 and 3 for each term, but bivvy/org/uk is nowhere to be seen, bivi/org/uk is also in 3rd spot on page one one for the term "bivi", so I guess you could say I'm fairly happy with those results, must check Yahoo more often, off to check my other sites on there now

bivvybag/co/uk is also 2nd spot for "bivvy tent" and "bivvy tents".

Hmmm, maybe I shoud redirect the bivvybag/co/uk domain to my bivvy/org/uk site as that's the best of the 3.
