I sold a domain one year ago (registered 2004) buyer also decided to exercise .uk rights. Expiry date reached, and Registrant has cancelled the domains. Where is the logic in that?

nope, it is still available, I wonder for how long?

Does seem daft they cancelled it. Nowt stranger than folk and all that.

I think previous registrant was a finance or insurance broker

if the first three letters were car, it/they would be snapped up in an instant, this one is only taken in four popular extensions

Makes me wonder if this is a mistake somewhere along the line

Had that a few times over the years, Including some £xx,xxx website sales which then are not touched and later expire. I can only assume people buy stuff as a tax expense and then can't be bothered, or do know what to do with it after.
