Any chance of an extra setting field for freeform title, which would fill the <title> tag in the outputted html.

Surprised no-one has asked for this. It's an essential part of SEO thesedays.

It currently just shows the domain name in the title bar & tabs.

I dont think google allow the landing pages to be optimised in any way, could be wrong tho?

Hi there Tifosi,

Grant is right that Google doesn't allow us to SEO domains, as I mentioned last week. I think that adding a <title> box wouldn't be a bad idea and wouldn't really constitute 'active SEO-ing' of the pages as much as just giving the pages a leg up in the search engines. I'm just concerned that people may abuse such a feature by hammering the title with phrases like loans / finance etc.

Hi Ed

It would be an idea I'd like introduced. It's not SEO as such. Just good standards complience.

Options wold be to have a select option list per subcategory. But I'd like a 15-25char freeform text. That absolves you (hopefully) of any seo action, and puts the resonsibility on the domainer to put a relevent title in. It would need some monitoring, and disentives for rule breaking.

Most modern cms allow freeform title addition / and some a dynamic one, although I understand this is slightly diferent.

Hmm, I like the idea of a per category default title as a stopgap. This would solve the immediate problem of free text being an issue while upping the search engine compatability.
