Well...I’ve finally got round to trying trafficparking.com... only a few days in.. but here's a quick summary of what I’ve found..

What I like:
1. great control panel, easy to use and well laid out..
2. plenty of customisation options.
3. dns & forwarding options
4. meta data entry (description & keywords, etc)
5. banner upload.. (option to add affiliate linking banners)
6. landing pages look professional.. displays 3 ads & a search box..fast loading with 1 main image..tabbed layout with | home |news | + other tabs, depending on the options selected in your control panel.
7. ability to list other domains from your portfolio
8. PPC & revenue listed in GBP
9. pop ups (entry & exit on/off options)
10. show or hide domain name
11. add details of domain for sale.. description, price, stats, etc..
12. automatic geo targeted ads..

what i don't like:
1. the summary view of your domains "small with restricted views of domains... particularly hard to differentiate between two domains with similar names... especially-the-long-hyphenated-ones" ...
2. no preview of page prior to saving and loading..

sitting on the fence:
1. only 3 adverts on the home page.. i suppose only time will tell if this format increases ctr..

i'll write a full review in a couple of weeks... but well worth a go.. as ever certain domains do well on different programs... I'm using 4 different parking companies now.. and they all have good and bad points... the format and levels of customisation on Trafficparking certainly gets a big thumbs up from me… enough to transfer a few more domains anyway :)

I think Barry from TrafficParking is a member here... so if you have any specific questions... i'm sure he'll oblige...
Or… if you want an end users view…. give me shout & I’ll do my best to answer your query..

cheers steve

be good to know if you get an increase in revenue or not.

i've noticed uk b2b stuff works better on sedo.
games/ringtones/mp3 (kid clickers) generally do well anywhere... but ND seem to have the edge..
fabulous seems to get better ctr for high traffic .coms...

will let you know about TP... I plan on parking about 100 traffic names that have had low ctr elsewhere..

just a quick follow up...

selecting to use the dns servers on most parking programs would capture most expired traffic.. (eg: from old sub domains or backlinks to old directories etc)

however I'm seeing a drop in daily views on certain domains... due to backlinks not reaching the domain..

eg. http://spyware-downloads.co.uk/downloads-for-spy-ware.html

would of been captured on Sedo & ND... but seems TP's redirects aren't set up for this... so be careful about which domains you try on TP..

if anyone from TrafficParking can clarify... i would be grateful

cheers steve

I have not tried this company personally, but I have read on other domain forums that receiving payment was a serious issue last fall/winter 2005. Payments sent several months late and a complicated invoicing system.

Anyway, they have probably gotten things straightened out and I am not looking to bad mouth anyone, but I thought people should be aware of this.

Even Sedo was stung without being paid by Miva for a long time.

Miva is still around though so guess it was all sorted.

Hi Momentum,

It's always good to make people aware of problems as this then helps the vendor (Trafficparking) to rectify them, in this case the problem was due to our PPC provider not paying on time, which believe me become very frustrating for a company trying to start out and make a good impression.

This is obviously not a problem anymore as we're now partnered with Overture who are a far more professional company.

Previously we made payments via cheque or wire, whereas now we pay users via PayPal, Wire Transfer, BACS, CHAPS, Cheque etc.

I'm always happy to hear feedback, good or bad, as this will intern help us create a better platform for you guys. We have a brilliant platform in place at the moment but you can always improve things with the help of others.

You guys do the talking, I'll do the listening, My programmers will make it happen.

I'm always at the end of an email so feel free to PM me with any ideas / improvements.

Regards

Barry

Hi Barry,

That sounds very encouraging. I am sure payment will not be an issue with Yahoo/Overture. Although I know they (Overture) can be rather stringent regarding which domains they allow to show their ads. But in the long term, that may be a good thing and reduce problems for all.

Wishing you much success,
Paul B.

I've been trying a couple on names with trafficparking.com and the main thing that I find lacking is the reporting.

You can see the number of 'searches' and 'clicks' for each domain in summary for 'today', 'yesterday' and 'total' along with the total click through rate.

You can also view monthly totals for 'hits', 'clicks' and 'searches' on a particular domain, and you can see the same stats for each search term on that domain.

Your other option is to view the 'cash' stats which give you monthly totals or daily totals.

What is missing is the option to see how much each domain has made. Unless I move each domain over 1 at a time to test, I can't find out which I should have where to earn the most money.
