As above, is it possible?

Will Nominet renew and tag change the domain for me on receipt of a completed transfer form? If so, will this be at the £80+ Vat that they charge?

TIA

This might be what you are looking for?

Detagging FAQ

How do I move a domain name that is DETAGGED onto a new tag?
To RETAG a domain name that is currently marked as DETAGGED, the legal registrant must submit a request using the online tag change form on our website which is available here . The registrant will be charged £15 plus VAT for using this service. As long as there are no outstanding debts associated with the domain name, Nominet will RETAG the domain name in accordance with the registrant's request.

Suspended I guess is where there are unpaid dues, and therefore those would have to be settled first.

Thanks but the domain isnt detagged, its simply suspended.

Does the registrant need to renew before we can transfer or can I pay this directly to Nominet at the time of transfer?

The simplest solution might be move the domain to your Tag, do the renewal, then do the transfer.

As far as I knew, you cant tag transfer a suspended domain.

I guess I can just submit the transfer forms and pay for the renewal (at the inflated rate) just before them confirm the transfer, thats what im banking on anyhow.

I dont see any problem in transferring a suspended domain name, as long as the renewal gets paid.

If anything - by moving the TAG you are delaying the drop date as nominet will assume that you are renewing it anyway.
