Hi all

I'm really struggling with Trifega.com :(

I'm trying to purchase a domain which they seemed to have picked up.

I've written to them, left numerous messages on their contact form - still nothing.

I was wondering if anyone has dealt them recently or has a contact email or number?

It seems I'm not the only one - as their are hundreds of other people trying to get domains off them as well.

Any information would be really helpful as I'm pulling my hair out with this one!!

Thank you,
Chris

Unless you make a serious offer from the start you are wasting your time.

Depends what the three figure is £100 or £999.

@antony

Hahaha - yeh that should do it! I might end up being bankrupt but at least i've got .co.uk domain...

@foz thats the thing its not really - I could add a hyphen and get it for £2.49 but I'm being picky and want the two words without a hypen.

Argh TRIFEGA.com are you still in business?????!!

It's 50/50 at best whether I'd even reply to a £300 offer though it does depend on which name it was made on and whether it looks like that's just the first step in a "serious" offer process, or whether it was from somebody genuinely clueless about the value of domains.

Given TRIFEGA.COM's portfolio it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that you're getting nowhere. Try setting your budget at a more reasonable level if you want them to take you seriously as a buyer!

even by domainers standards they want crazy money
5 figs for anything
I always check whois before offering on sedo or private
If I see it's them, I won't waste my time or theirs
They have some great domains but on the most part think their expectations are unrealistic and would be surprised if they sell many over the years

!

Yep - a start point for anyone really.

Never like those £xxx references in posts. We can all guess we're talking about £200 at best and considered a "serious offer" Nothing wrong with that - just don't expect a reply ratio above 1:5

Right pred - but that is part of the problem ( more acute in uk namespace) it is pretty much sewn up due to it's capture systems, rather than the "money talks/walks" model (from re-registration/holding agent transfer) active in the Gtlds

Have replied to me via contact form recently. After several days.

Back in August asked me to make a 4 figure offer on a domain and on Friday asked me to make a 5 figure offer on another.

Perhaps make a better offer!?

Without knowing the domain(s) it's impossible to comment if their expectations are high.

Since they own the domain name, if you want to buy THAT EXACT domain (i.e. there is no substitute) then it doesn't matter if their expectations are sky-high - that's what you'll need to pay to get them to part with it.

It clarifies (for discussion purposes) whether the buyer is complaining about nothing.

Asking for four or five figure offers sounds like fishing, that is, the seller is unclear as to the value they want too.
