Perfer A personally, but something is still off, I think its a colour thing with the stylish/modern green but the wood cladding doesnt compliment it. One or the other needs to change but it depends what look you are trying to achive, whether it be contempary farm house style or modernised clean and crisp. If it was clean and crisp id consider replacing the wood cladding with some of the new cladding options.

Our house currently looks like this, so the odd roof does restrict a lot what we can do with it!

I've done a rough design for the back, which I'm happy with... just the front to sort now.

Personally now having seen the back of the house i'd be looking to tie in that with something modern on the front side, perhaps some double gable pitches, white/grey wraparounds, floor/ceiling glass on the left hand side/centre to join the old and the new

Unfortunately, we can't go to modern, as it wouldn't fit in with the other houses down the street.

OK - here it is with green windows, and a darker roof.

The grey cladding is meant to represent oak boards that have gone slightly silver with age.

Not sure what other kind of cladding colour would work really...

Could you extend the amount the roof comes down and out over the front of the garage to add a bit of depth and reduce the amount of fascia that is just flat cladding - similar to the house on the right.

Both are lovely, and my initial reaction was B, but with back in mind A is the winner. It has a bit more about it than B and looks more valuable.

Either way thats a lovely looking project gonna be great either way and well done mate.

In one of your earlier incarnations I think you had the top level smaller windows without front facing wood facia ? And maybe lightly darker window frames ( Grey ? ) would tie it in with the neighbours if its a planning issue ?
