Yeah, i know its an iffy ringtone word... but has anyone tried to find a decent one!... there all gone.

Ive started to develop the site as a Jamster affiliate (worldwide), does anyone think this could be worth anything when finished?

Hi VC,

Not sure that "ringtoning" is something anyone would naturally search for so definately needs development to have any value. If you can get the site well indexed for ringtones then we have found the Jamster affiliate conversion rate quite high.

I've got ringtonz.net and ringtonz.co.uk under development

but you're right. All the good names are gone. It's better like jamster and wibble to use a non 'ring' name and maket a market recognised name.

Bertelsmann,which co-owns the world’s second-largest music label Sony BMG together with Sony Corp and used to be involved in the p2p business via Napster, is to launch BMA Ringtones a new p2p white service targeted at “mobile phone operators, Internet providers or TV stations”. Companies using BMA Ringtones can “offer their clients legal downloads of large files under their own brand… it could also allow (the consumers) to share the files they have received over the network, effectively outsourcing the storage of the files and their download to the users of the network.”

I’m sure Bertelsmann has thought about all of this and come up with solutions - I’ll be interested to see what they are. (from our sister site, Billboardpostplay)

Interesting. I've looked at the affiliate scene for this area and the best (for uk/eu anyway) seem to be jamster & mediaplazza.

Would be interested to see if this new venture offers the same opportunities
