Hi all,

I purchased art.directory for a web project, which is now not going to happen.

As such I would love to get some idea of what this domain name maybe worth. I tried the Sedo estimator but from what I read on here its not worth the pixels it displayed on!

Any help would be great as I am totally new to this stuff :)

Thanks in advance!

How much did you buy it for? That's probably how much it is worth.

I've not seen a .directory domain up for sale before. I've not heard of any going for decent money. If I was starting an art directory project today, I'd probably go for a brand name over your domain.

I don't think it's worth much, but don't let that stop you seeing if you can sell it on to someone.

Thanks for the replies chaps.

Yeah, it cost about £140 to buy, be happy to make that back.

Thinking of approaching websites and organisations in the art industry to see if anyone is interested.

Was also advised that I could setup a basic website to get it some ranking in Google, then try selling it as that would increase its worth.

What you guys think of that?

It depends how much you value your time at. I don't like to be too negative, but this would not be an easy domain to sell. That said, if you have the time, writing letters to potentially interested parties won't take you long, and at least gives the possibility of a sale.
