Bizarre email from investigations company to a content website of mine

sounds like they've possible done a generic search for any urls that match and your site has flagged, so they've sent you a standard email maybe ?

Ask what exactly it is they object to? I mean are they legit in terms of being from the source of articles?

remove the url/content and move on if you are worried.

If someone asks me to move content or a URL i ask them to details specifically what they are not liking and why and give them 5 business working days to reply. Maybe they are wanting to dominate the search engines with there own content so try to remove everyone first who knows.
