Charity Auction

Hi guys,

I'm not sure if anybody has posted something like this lately (or at all). But I've been thinking about Christmas and people in need at this time of year. I'd love to try and organise something to help. Maybe with the Foodbanks, or with the Shelters etc.

So I wondered who would be up for donating one or more of their domain names (me included) to auction away, the proceeds of which would go entirely to the chosen charity. We could all come up with something together that we could agree on. I'm not sure about the logistics of the auction, perhaps it would need to be on here or something. Even if it is some renewals that you're not intending to renew, people may choose to bid on it. We could perhaps set up a GoFundMe or a Ko-Fi or something, when the auction is over, instead of paying the seller, the buyer would donate the money to the campaign and then receive the domain name.

I welcome any suggestions to this, would be great to get everybody involved.

Hi Ben, great idea.

I am willing to donate a domain name or names.

I think on here might be good, I also know Flippa.com allows auctions for domain bundles which might be an option.

Perhaps we can look at a 3 day auction (given the time frame), or even 7 days?

I am not in the UK, but I will go with whatever you guys decide for the beneficiaries.

Did you think maybe only UK domains, or other TLDs, .com etc?

what about asking sedo to add a charity auction tab on its main homepage as it is a global registra and accepts all extensions including .com and new gtlds and at some point will add blockchain domains etc but just like sedo s great domain auctions etc they could make one of their great domain auctions a charity auction right of the dot could add a charity auction at namescon next month january 2022 etc
