Yea, I got one of "Domain Registry of America" letters the other day for a clients domain. Sent a copy straight to the ASA.
They responded basically saying they totally agree but as they are not based in the UK there is sod all they can do about it. With the exception of sending letters asking them to stop which they have done already.
On good terms with my local MP, maybe she can put some pressure on someone.
