I'd like to chat (pm) with anyone who use the EPN with regards QPC, not wanting to know your earnings! but more about how it's working for you, your EPC ratings and general swapping of ideas.

This month has tanked spectacularly for me, I'm not sure :confused: why but I'm getting a 'titanic' kind of feeling

If your using the a2p plugin as well I'd be especially keen to chat!

Im using both on a couple of sites mate, earnings started really well this month now dropped to less than £1 a day at the moment :(
 
Not using A2P although I do mainly use RSS based scripts. QCP earnings have generally trended upwards during this month (including during the tracking issue 13th-16th) so absolutely no complaints from me.
 
Hmm...it's apparent that I do something wrong. I can't seem to generate much from EPN. What niches do you feel work the best?
 
My QPC has gone from 11 - 15 down to 4 - 8 this month. I have added new sites so this may be why, anyone have experience of this?

My personal thoughts:

Not sure you'll get folk telling the world what their best performing niche is :roll:

If you take the time to research and find a vertical that is not covered by 1000s of other affiliates, build a useful, informative site around the subject then you're on the way to earning regular amounts.

It sometimes pays to choose a subject that you have a personal interest in since this makes it easier for you to write articles about it, and you'll be more inclined to keep it updated and spend time on it.

Don't just pick a niche just because it has high value sale items, also try to avoid something that's seasonal (for your first sites), be totally transparent in your site telling visitors they'll be buying from the eBay platform.

And, unless you have a 1st class domain that gets natural type in traffic don't think you can just build and forget it whilst the $£ roll in, you reap what you sow.

Note to self; take two large tablespoons of your own advice twice a day until you retire .....

This month has been really bad for me also. Even August was better. I'm wondering if something has changed in the QCP algorithm. By any chance is anyone else displaying 'buy it now' listings only? :confused: this might be the cause
 
I ignore the EPC number as it simply seems to be calculated by dividing a % of eBay's revenue by clicks generated over a period of time.

I keep checking to see that I'm consistently earning 60-65% of eBay's revenue over the longer term which is fine by me. The daly EPC stat is all over the place just as the daily click numbers are.

If ever I fall below 50% of eBay's revenue on my sales taken over a fair sample period (3 months +) then I will bitch.
 
Continuing on the EPN theme, I put a question to them about the EB Motors program and the issue of off EB motor sales, interesting to hear their response, even if they did somewhat skirt the question ..... view it here
 
I don't find their 'halo effect' theory very convincing. Surely for most people thinking of buying a car, the last thing they want to worry about is the parts it may need. And as for buying other items, ebay seems to lower your click price if the user strays away from the product area they landed on :?.

Not sure how they measure the CP especially if you get an ACRU who then goes on a spree ...

As for the 'Halo effect' I'm going to give it a bash as it sort of makes sense (if for example I'm selling tractors then some may also be interested in tractor parts....) tbh it can't do any harm in my case, will see how it goes.

I've seen both ups and lots of downs the past six months with EPN but I'm sticking with it for now and riding out the storm. I've had some good winning bids recently and it's been down to the quality of the traffic.

Splitting my campaigns up really helped. Through the use of tracking with the customid field (I use one for each automation in a2p) I'm now keeping an eye on the keywords that perform and those that don't to help increase the click price.

Problem is I've 50+ a2p sites now and it's an administrative nightmare! :)

Thank you. I have a shoe related site that does ok when it comes to Amazon. I thought Ebay was big when it comes to selling shoes, but I may be wrong. Or I'm presenting the adds in a bad way.

Haven't seen you post in a while ....

I too use separate campaign Id's but wasn't aware you can see(?) the keywords that result in clicks (or are they embedded in the copy and you have to trial and error in one's that work better?)

also, do you add your default campaign Id on the ap2 site settings (as well as the campaign specific one)?

Ive been doing pretty good with it. My QPC earning were quite stable around the same amount for the entire first half of the year. Then a couple of month ago I broke a barrier and doubled my earnings. :eek: There were two reason for that: I had a very big ticket item being sold (something I dont actually promote on my site :lol:) plus I started to rank high in the SERPs for some high volume keywords. (Whoever said SEO work doesnt pay off?) So yeah, just work on getting as much organic traffic as possible, coupled with quality content on your site, and EPN should work well for you. (If you use a wordpress blog I recommend the free plugin WordBay to you. Thats what I use :)
 
Heres my take on it...

Probably the higher priced products for EPN, promote bids only as people are searching for cheaper alternatives, sometimes they can knock £100s off 1 product just by simply being patient. The higher priced the product the more people shop around to find the best price, this is where eBay tends to do well.

With AA I suppose a strategy would be to mix it up, if your website is selling niche low priced products then I'd go there as they will probably convert better, plus it will also build you up to your next commission tier which will benefit your higher priced products as you will get more commission. I really hate their 1 day cookie though but Amazon is generally a good converter because its hard to beat their prices due to 3rd party sellers.

I have tried EPN, I do have an account with them, but not planning on using it until after Xmas, for now I am going to start directing my traffic towards AA. Its not that I dont think EPN are bad, its just the websites I currently have wont work with EPN and my QCP will be low.

I have read that AA contextual links convert better, the judge and jury is out on that at the moment and is something I am building into my niche sites. For one site I have noticed an increase in clickthroughs in the last 3 days, but its early days yet, so will see how the conversions go. Does this work with EPN?... only time will tell :)

So EPN or AA? I plan on using both, it simply depends on the product!
