Hi. If anybody could give me an idea of it's worth I'd be most grateful.

It obviously has the environmental draw to it, and it's short, memorable and pretty much generic!

Thanks.

Like you said, eco, £40k to £60k if you had the right eco robbing conning bandit interested.

"Do you fancy donating money to charity to offset your carbon footprint?"

"No, do you fancy sticking your carbon footprint up your harris and just giving me a cheap flight?"

Cheers
Lee

A very nice domain name......... I'd guess around low - mid £xx,xxx.

Many of the sales in this ballpark go unreported and so it's hard to say for definite. With this sort of name, I'd suggest getting a proper appraisal.

Usual caveat applies: a domain name is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it :)

Hi all.

Many thanks for the messages, all useful stuff.

best .uk domain i've ever seen on here
awesome
£100k +

you might want to try "Phillip Green" as well, owns topshop + major high street brands, the guy is worth billions. Tried to buy marks and spencer a few years ago. Very well known figure.

£100,000 is nowt to him with his money

Thank you all for your comments.

The UK is currently very proactive regarding green issues, especially the private sector if not the governing bodies, so there is definitely the market for it right now.

Thanks again.

It's the kind of domain that you could see a BIG brand using, from the big oil companies to car manufacturers, credit card providers, house builders, air companies etc.

BP/Shell/Esso would work well from the "we're trying to become more green". Credit cards from the point of view of getting a green friendly message out there to get new applications. Pretty much any big brand could find a way to use it.

To any business of that size, £100k is nothing out of the budget that they could allocate to it. They spend millions on those kind of initiatives.

Another option is to rent it out? £10k+ per month (with some kind of minimum duration) and you point it at the web server of their choice.

Pred, must say I'm surprised you feel it's the best domain ever seen on here. I think it's a very timely name and undeniably valuable but there have been way better names posted on here in my opinion ;)

Still would agree it's worth £75k+ now though.

hmmm, IMHO its not a 100k name at the moment, i think if it went on SEDo or ebay it would be lucky to make 10/12k.

im seeing good .coms and .co.uk go for less every week.

It is a very memorable, good generic, easy to spell name - one of the best around but with out the backing or branding.... :(

Its finding what it fits it best.

green issues/ environment is hard to monitize (look at recycle.co.uk) and the gov can have green.gov.uk at a whim and bash it out on TV all day long.

I think the loans/money/banking angle could be good.

nice name..

A good name, but could only reach a 75k - 100k value if a big company wanted it for a new brand, which might not happen. I probably wouldn't part with it for less than 20k.

If I were, say, BP trying to setup some green-esque site I would investigate green.co.uk............ and, if it was £100k, I would just register (eg) bpgreen.co.uk instead. All my megabucks advertising would instantly give the domain name traffic, brand awareness, etc. I don't think green.co.uk on its own, as a name, is a £100k name.

In the big business scenario, it's the advertising and branding that makes the name valuable - and realistically they could do this with any short catchy domain name.

That's not to say you won't strike lucky and get a big balls £100k sale though - these things do happen (very rarely)...

Just my opinion on a dull friday
