I have a ' uk celebrity' domain that has been parked with ND for a month or so. It gets regular type in (the official site is a com, ive got the co.uk).

2 days ago, I decided to very quickly develop the domain as it gets such good traffic.

I've earned more from adsense in 2 days than I did in a whole month parked at ND.

It takes about 30 mins to quickly knock up a 5 page site. Even if no SEO is done, the revenue per click will beat parking.

So this begs the question, Why park?

Why should i point my name servers at ND or anyone else for that matter, when affiliation and contextual advertising is so quick and simple (and the site can be spidered and accepted)?

Your thoughts ND, or anyone else's would be appreciated.

There is NO point in parking Celebrity domains at all. Can you PM me your site, so I can take a look?

and here's another twist...

I have a typo of a premium subscription domain. The subscription dom has an affiliate scheme where it pays per new visitor etc. I tried that for a while and then parked it as a comparison. When parked, the 'real' site comes top of the list of links.

Lo and behold, I get more from parking and click through than as a direct affiliate.

It's a funny old game.....

Ed at Namedrive PM'd me asking my thoughts on domaining and affiliate marketing and both markets - as I have a good knowledge of both and I replied with an essay, your findings pendragon are concerns of many and sites like namedrive and sedo will have to adapt as their competitors are already doing, sedo think they're clever with their latest upgrade but they're still lightyears behind private dealers.

I'll consider whether to publish what I wrote but I'm not sure I wish to yet until I've achieved my aims.

My 'celeb' domain went live on the 17th on jan. Already it has a google PR2 !! I'm guessing the relatively high adsense ctr has impacted on the algorythm?

i regged a .org.uk just a couple of months ago and its a PR5 already.

PM sent, interesting debate.

I have several celebrity names that get good type in traffic but feel I lose out in terms of rev due to them being parked and thus not recognised by search engines.

If anyone has any adsense tips or sample sites I would personally love to take a look.
