How popular is Ebay these days? Well if you have been watching the news you would know that ebay is quite popular, and has been the home of some rather unusual auctions. Everything from the virgin mary grill cheese sandwich to a haunted cane, and the right to name someones baby has made its way onto ebay. The ebay craze has made it’s way out of the news and into pop culture, infamous hoaksters Penn and Teller, feature the virgin Mary sandwich in the opening credits of there show "Bullshit" now in its second season on Showtime. Even pop culture Icon Weird Al Yankovic has gotten into the act, with a hit song that satireizes all the odd things that people puchase on ebay. It truly does appear that you can sell anything on ebay. One Oklahoma woman, Tina Womack, who sold herself on ebay as the "Human Casino Chip" is out to prove just that. This time she is selling the web domain "www.iboughtitonEbay.com". The web site currently features pictures of many of the oddities that have been purchased on ebay, and includes Weird Al’s Ebay song. Womack says that the domain itself is up for auction. Once it is sold it will belong to the winning bidder forever, they will make whatever changes they decide. Tina goes on to explain that the idea was actually given to her by a silent partner, who saw the worldwide media attention that Tina had garnered with her other auction. She believes that this auction may even get the attention of the ebay buying juggernaut goldenpalace.com, who bought her as the "Human Casino Chip". "There are lots of sights out there that are dedicated to spotting auctions like Brian, ebay seller ezas123 (awesome creater of the iboughtitonebay.com webpage) woohoomysteryman.com (the guy that sold a gum wrapperfor over $300.00) also ebay seller chvand47 (goldenpalace.com bought her beautiful smile for ad space) and ebay seller lilys_things (seller of curious goods) ALL are sellers on ebay! I figure it is a great name for anyone who wants to start up a website like that or show off the cool stuff they’ve bought. That’s why I think it will sell.
