Hi Ed

Sorry to bug ya,

I've just logged into name drive to find all my stats reset to zero? Is this standard, a monthly reset? Apologies if this info is in the FAQ, i just hav't read them all yet.

Cheers
PaulMellors [Thats my login name too]

I'm not Ed, but this is indeed the standard monthly reset. If you select "last month" from the drop down box, you'll get your stats for January.

I am Ed and I'd like to say, welcome to February. I wanted to have a 'last 30 days' view ready for the changeover from Jan to Feb... Wow, is it already the start of another payout round? My favourite time of the month :)

Incidentally, if anyone has selected bank wire as their payment method, then I'd just like to reinforce what I said last month that our preferred payout method is PayPal. We use Mass Pay, so we actually swallow the fee, meaning you lose none of the 3% PP fee as well as the fact that nothing gets lost in currency translation. Please do change it today though, because we gather our payout stats on the 2nd of the month :)

oh, god.... here we go again!! :)

You took the words right out of my mouth - and yes I was one of them last month soon to complain that the system had gone down doh! :p

just a quickie....
At the beginning of each month, you can now use the 'last 30 days' tab in the drop down list just to make things a little less frightening!
So the best way to view stats at this time of month is selecting 'last 30 days', pressing search and then clicking 'Daily Stats'.

Lovely.

Evening all,

While we're on the subject of new things (the 30 day drop down), up there next to the drop down, you'll see 'page size'. This allows you to select how many domains are shown per page. The maximum is 100.
I had no idea this was on the cards, but it looks pretty nice :)

This is cool, but is it possible to go one step further and have an "all" option (for those of us with more than 100 domains)?

Thanks

Um. Tech actually asked me if 100 would be OK to have 100 as a max and I said yes as the load on the system is pretty large only for 100 domains.
The main concern with an 'all' feature is that those of you with several thousand domains might press it by mistake...
I'll see what they say!

Thanks Ed, much appreciated.

You could always get some bigger servers :)

We are :p
Something to do with clusters, I'm told. Whatever that means.

End of January, they said...

Soon. I think I should go to bed..

Fine. It'll be increased to 250 later on tonight :)

Happy?!!

It's only for the stats page at the moment sadly as the settings page is a beast and 25 is as much as we can handle for now, but it will hopefully rise soon.

Buenas noches.

always-helpful.org.uk

What about the ability to list the top say 50 domains in order - i.e. it takes them out of their folders (just for the list).

So I can see across the board which are huge losers and need attention.

he he ! I enjoy taking advantage - suggest something weird for the sake of it and - dammit - they respond!!

Haha.

Dance, monkey, dance!

I'll have to, er, pass on that last suggestion for now. Actually, isn't that already possible by downloading everything as a CSV? Believe so. Touché...

We are thinking of implementing wav files of whale sounds to sooth our visitors as they peruse their stats. What do you think aqls?
Compulsory flash intros saying "we DRIVE your NAMES"?
The ability to sort domains by 'male visitors' and 'female visitors'?

Lord, I think I really should go to bed. This is the sort of post you read in the morning and regret..

I say again. Buenas Noches.

Taking that idea further, how about a domain "intensive care" feature whereby you proactively identify domain names that get (for example):

- lots of traffic but no clicks

- lots of clicks but at a very very low rate

... and then assist the owner in improving revenues by optimising the keywords, headers, categories etc.

The other way would be to allow users to recommend their domains for intensive care - but to limit it to, say, one domain per account per week so as to avoid being swamped. Aferall, we know that intensive care beds are limited :)

Just a thought....

I pity any .co.uk name that has to go through the NHS. I think I'd like .se intesnive care or perhaps rich man .com intensive care myself.

I do like the idea though and we may borrow the name off you :) I'm not going to say it's something we'll put all our energy into, but it ertainly is in everyone's interests. You can contact us any time with any number of names which you'd like us to look at. We all win by doing so and it sure beats writing midnight email. Seriously, though, if you feel something isn't doing as well as you'd like, we're always happy to have a look and try, with varying degrees of success, to remedy it, Carry-on-Doctor-style.
