I hope it is just 1-10 years like gTLDs and not some strange unique system.
Nominet only seem to do strange/unique, I'm guessing it will be some over-complicated system that goes way over the head of everyone apart from registrars and technical geniuses! Or maybe I'm bitter as I spent literally 3 hours on the phone last week talking Joe Public through the new Nominet online service/transfer system
FAQ:
"I already have a 123-reg account, why do I need a Nominet account as well?"
"I already have some domains but I've not heard anything about a Nominet account?"
"I don't know what the admin email address is on my existing domains so I can't retrieve my password?"
"Eh, if I want to use my existing Nominet account I have to pay £11.75 to 'reestablish my identity' with them?"
"What's an IPS-TAG?"
"If the transfer is automated why does it cost £11.75?"
And my favourite quote from last week: "Who created this piece of sh*t system"
Does anyone know if there is a section on Nominets site somewhere that explains all this in an easy to understand manner as I couldn't find anything?
Glad that's off my chest
