What do you think of this one guys? Good olive oil can be quite a high value product, and it's quite a big industry. What do you think my chances of a sale are with the .me.uk? At the time I wanted to reg the .eu, which would have been quite a good name, but I had to settle for the .me.uk.

Thanks

My personal opinion is you will struggle to find a buyer for it. There isn't really a .me.uk reseller market, no exact match bonus for development and end users don't seem the slightest bit interested in .me.uk, probably because unless Nominet change the rules, any "company" can't technically own them.

Therefore I think you'll struggle to sell it, but this is of course only my opinion and you may well get lucky as I have with a couple of .me.uk's. Longer term the situation may of course change, but why not register some of the superb, popular, product .me.uk's that are still available instead and that you could quite easily do something with in the interim?

Or, if you're interested in some .eu domains, drop me a pm - I'm selling a small portfolio to concentrate on other areas :D

This is my opinion, so isn't meant to be offensive at all - but after seeing some of your recent appraisal threads I'd stick to buying some .co.uk's which are slightly more niche for reselling opportunities.

You clearly know how to research keywords and find available .me.uk's with them, so I imagine if you were to be just a little more specific and go for .co.uk's you could do quite well pitching them to end users. ;)

me.uk's are difficult ones to value. I am far from calling them worthless though. Some of my very simple .me.uk affiliate sites are bringing OKish commissions. I do think that product specific me.uk's are more of the interest of other affiliates and if you can show them some results then it goes at the time x revenue price.

Good point expertc, forgot to mention my post is only related to reselling domains. There are members here which will generate more than reg-fee revenue out of affiliate/storeburst sites on .me.uk's (boxerdog I think is one regular .me.uk buyer from browsing the latest reg'd domain thread).

Search engines like Yahoo seem to still not mind .me.uk's - I see this Adult DVDs example mentioned a lot around the subject. ;)

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm just testing the appetite for .me.uk round here and offering them up because after a few years as an affiliate I've decided to take it a bit easier. There isn't a great appetite for them so I might end up developing many of them after all. Mind you, OliveOil.me.uk would be more of a sale opportunity than a site build.
