It will be sold to the highest bid by Sunday lunch time.
(That's Acorn time, before 12:00 on Sun 18th Jan 2009)

Payment by PayPal or online bank transfer, within twelve hours.

Starting bid should be £300, BIN £1380 inc VAT
Bids by PM please. I'll update the current highest here.

Please bid including VAT.

Just a reminder that bidding closes here at 1200. All posts and PMs must be before then (Acorn time)

£460 filler text here filler text here ... cheers, rob

Today, 12:00 PM - posts before 12:

11:59 is before 1200 , 12:00 is not before 12:00 ;)

Just have to see if someone nailed it higher via PM first!

Thats fine Rob, I read the post and accept that you are the highest bidder.

Just a silly way to have an auction in my opinion.

Thanks - I would prefer if all is 'on thread' rather than PM elements, however going by Colin's post there wasnt any so triples all round.

Cheers,
Rob

Experience has shown that you have to set an exact time to end an auction and say who's clock you are using. I thought it was clear that it ended at 12:00 Acorn time. So 11:59:59 was fine and 12:00:00 was late.

I refreshed the Acorn home page until it showed 12:00 and drew the line there. Any better suggestions?

Hi Colin,

How about ensuring that all bids are in-thread, and stating that the winner is the highest bid at 12.00 or after 15 minutes from the last posted bid (whichever is latest).

That would solve it?

Some people don't like their bids to be public.

I also like it to be clear cut at a fixed time and not mess people about. That and get around to the pub.
