Radio Control Helicopters

Does anyone know much about these? If so can you recommend one for a beginner?

Will have a look on Google etc but given there's so many know-alls on here I thought someone would be able to throw in a few suggestions.

Any info / tips / recommendations appreciated.

Robert has suggested using a USB flight controller and some helicopter software in order to learn how to do it and hence hopefully avoid crashing the real thing.

Sounds like a plan - can anyone recommend one?

Just looking at that site... the star ratings are great - all 4-5 stars except "Ease of Flight" 3 star!

Make sure you get the stryker "c" not the "b"

They are actually easier to fly because they have the power to do what you want and if you get in trouble you can point it skywards and it will climnb vertically.

If you have a slow one, it won';t climb and will stall and crash.

But yep the c will carry a camera and you can upload them on youtube as lots do, worth a watch.

That's exactly what I was thinking of. Wondering how you control the camera remotely, or were you referring to vid?

But there are plenty more on sale if things go wrong, and fly in secret to start with. You don't need the hassle of kids bringing the bits back say "here Mister, your motor landed here"

Definately start with the USB simulator, very similar to flying the models. Once you've mastered that you should be alright starting with a raptor or similar and begin hovering about two foot off the ground. ;-) I'm quite heavy handed and it find that it certainly requires a deftness of touch and plenty of practice, real ones are even harder.
