It's now Monday 11 June and Nominet systems are still not back online. It doesn't look like Renewal requests are being processed either!?

It would be nice to have a short update/report on their website as to the current status and progress.

Thank you for that info. I wonder how long it will actually take them to get the .UK up and running again! They've probably all gone 2 bed for the night now lol ;-)

It's all over the place. Names are dropping when WHOIS doesn't show them as suspended, automation is operating in bursts and DAC in even shorter bursts.

I suppose it fair in a bizarre way. So long as everybody is seeing the same.

Domains dropping all over the place, but still no DAC and worse yet there's been a change in the acceptable Automation syntax, so my requests were failing anyway.

I couldn't have missed it by much then.
The previous owner (business) was just down the road from me.

Quote from Nominet's secure area for members:

    -start quote-

    Drop process

The cancellation of domain names and subsequent availability for re-registration will continue until systems are taken off-line on Saturday 9 June 2007. Any domain names that were due to drop from the point at which systems are taken off-line will be put on hold and will subsequently begin to drop at random periods during Monday 11 June 2007.

Just got notification that the names not showing as suspended on whois are now showing the SUSPENDED status correctly.

Any further whois inconsistencies let me know and I'll pass them on now I've got direct contact.

And when is DAC likely to come back?

I've also noticed that Automation is no longer tolerant of extra blank lines.

The term "chomp" springs to mind.
Its OK to expect us not to add extra spaces or lines, but I don't think its unreasonable to expect them to accommodate that as stripping out spaces is a standard thing done in most programs that take input from users.

The DAC being unavailable for so long is very bad. They should have removed the rate limit on whois until the DAC was back.
