Hey everyone,

Might be a bit of a strange question or I'm obviously missing something..
I noticed a lot of the recent SEO domain sale prices on DL, and either I'm getting old or my math ain't mathing 😂

For example I've seen some extremely strange domains with ton of really spammy backlinks ( although I'm talking between 200-800k backlinks ),
high DA, PA & a fairly even CF & TF score, with no worthwhile target site that I can see, going for fairly decent amounts.

Are some people buying these to point at other sites like gambling etc just purely for the quantity of backlinks and the high DA ?

If thats the case I'm going to stop chasing good names ( no jokes about my recent listings please 😂 ) and start going after domains
that trying to analyse is the equivalent of talking to the mother in law

Ive aasked about this and got zero replies. Specifically.... what do they do with them? I mean proper seo domains... not turnng into gambling traffic.

If you buy an seo domain, i presume its to pass link juice, but i'm guessing is not just a redirect to do properly

I passed on a domain for a previous primary school the other day only because I have no use for a domain with the primary school name itself totalling around 85% of all backlink anchor text .. yet it sold for £248 I think

Interesting topic, I also haven't met these mystery seo buyers - keep hearing about them (huge monthly budgets for buying seo domains), though haven't met them. .. and domainers who have direct contact with these - seem holding the information to themselves.. very strange..

It's the dark arts lol...... you haven't seen me okay !

A lot of them end up going to non-gamstop casino sites. I assume the affiliate earnings are very high considering the market. But some of them seem to remain dormant or without nameservers for months at a time. Some get rebuilt from archives and affiliate links thrown into established posts. There doesn't seem to be 'one' explanation. However the budgets have dropped drastically and some players don't appear to be involved anymore

ahhhh :) are you 1 of the buyers of the seo domains? .. maybe even contracted by some gambling company operating in the UK?

.. ahh.. we really need to meet up more... it would be great doing regular Acorn meetups, wouldn't it? .. I am thinking of this format now..

ahh.. it makes sense = affiliate earnings. .. never actually thought about this.. makes sense. .. though this, for sure, quite often is a dark art.. :D :D I'm so happy to have left this dimension many years ago :) .. didn't find it fulfilling

Me? No ! Just interested in how they get used. Ive thought of trying to grab a couple for my own sites to see if it makes a difference. I'd ened up just doing a redirect though. No idea how to do it properly.

one of the guys who has done it professionally was @freddy for continuously growing hosting.co.uk .. I remember him talking that the results were really great - though you needed to approach this methodically..

:) I have to admit that forum footer links to hostmaria do help me as well (whatever people say of footer links)

.. bought some expired .com forum names and redirected to DNF, though the number of these domains was so small that noone can really tell the difference :D :D

.. good topic

Well if the SEO buyers are reading this PM me as i have a proposition for you/them :)

I'm actually going to test this with a domain I spotted that dropped a while back with a ridiculous amount of backlinks an a 30 - 40 DA & similar for PA... Lets see what happens.. will post results after a while
