thank you grant. it is nice to hear good feedback :)

yes it is getting members by the day now and people are posting slowly and it is getting there. Been trying to get press coverage but no joy :) maybe because the site is still young or not busy enough, but ill keep plodding on...

great job

Great job Paul. Really like the look & feel of the site. I think you will have no problems getting pr coverage for the site in a month or three, when it fills up a bit. Top drawer. This has to be the jewel in your crown. if it's not i want to know what other's you got!!! A hugh hefner retirement awaits i feel!

:) this is my next 12 months project...I have others in the pipeline next year but this needs to be developed first...

well the site is getting busy now :)

still looking for ideas that might attract it, and also any ideas on how to get media to look at it.

Hi

Paul,
this recycling lark is only gonna get bigger. most of us aren't very good at it, or more likely too lazy!
a day or two ago the BBC ran a story about 'pay as you throw'.
apparently they've been doing it years in the US.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5290060.stm
would probably make an interesting article on your site.
confirms people will be get into recycling in a big way, or it will cost them! £
of course i looked straight away for payt.co.uk
vodafone own that!
although bagged the payt.org.uk which will do just fine. i may develop this one. maybe share a link Paul?
also got payasyouthrow.co.uk just to be safe!
as far as your site, keep it going 2 or 3 years. it's worth a packet now, then, has to be worth 6 figures, the market's huge!
cheers, Predator

A nice site which will undoubtedly get even better as you develope further.

The graphics in the "How it works" banner look really good and I would round off the orange background to match. A kinda soft rounded effect to the whole site I think would polish it off a bit as well.

The top tool bar could be improved quite a bit by getting rid of the table border and sticking a nice rounded background image instead. This with the addition of having buttons or tabs that match the feel of the rest of the site would go a treat.

A bit of movement on the page I think would add some value.

Lastly - I'd try to match up the table section widths, as it looks as though the bottom section is narrower than the rest.

After all that, I'll just say; I hope the site mushrooms into something very fruitful indeed :-D

Regards,

Sneezycheese.

If you read TheSun newspaper today, they are now monitoring what you throw out by putting computer chips into wheelie bins! The dustcart weighs your bin as it empties so they can track your waste volumes.

So Big Brother is rubbish! :)

LOL Agreed!
That story about computer chips was with the BBC the day before also. Just proving all the Sun does ,when it actually prints news, is recycle old news.

is there anyone here that can advise on advertising. Ive had a few companies approach me and need some advice. if some one can help please can you msn me.

thanks in advance.

I know loads of pikeys that will love this site. Like the guy I know who keeps breaking in to our garage at work nicking old bent bikes, repairing them, selling them... then we see then again 6 months later.

Back to the site, I really like this. Great idea, puts an eBay spin on a swap shop. There is real potential here.

The advertising thing i think is split. At the moment you have both swaps, and recyling info. I think you need to choose either one to help target sponsorship leads. Say if it was about recycling at home, then there are huge companies going into this and will want to be associated. Whereas if your just going down the swap shop line, then perhaps it's just adwords.

Like it though.

I have a mate who runs a bin company. When he calls I say "how yer been", he says "good mate...", I say, "no how you wheelie bin!" how he laughs.
