Spamming forums

Just went to sign up to a USA VoIP forum and noticed it was spammed A LOT!!

So popped an email to admin saying does anyone keep on top of it as it's like looking for a needle in a haystack trying to find genuine posts.

100's of spam posts from about 4 users covering pages and pages for "today's posts"

Its likely to be a bogus forum and the spam posts are drawing visitors and thus making him some revenue.

I have some old abandened forums which are similar only I closed new registrations before leaving it to stagnate, still turns over £XX in revenue each year so worth just leaving it sat there

Forums are terrible for being spammed these days, AD gets about 100 attempts per day!

There is a lot you don't see (such as suspected spam posts going to a moderation queue so you don't see them until they are approved) behind the scenes to keep this place rid of this.

And it seems every post is just advertising for companies no real helpful stuff there. Like Skinner said it might be he's not bothered as he gets clicks but his reply to me wasn't the greatest one!

I was actually trying to seek other VzozIzP forums to see how they worked and ran as a VzozIzP forum. I was after some ideas for topics, sections and info from members to help mine and thought it was a shame to let his be a advertising board with no discussion!!
