Would a Telegram-backed .gram tempt you away from .uk/.com?

Telegram has applied for .gram, with the idea that Telegram usernames could eventually become addresses such as name.gram, potentially with a site attached.

Normally I’m fairly cautious about new extensions, but this one feels a little different simply because Telegram already has a huge user base to put it in front of.

If .gram did become available to the public, would anyone here actually take a punt on a few good names? For me it would depend heavily on renewal cost, whether you get normal DNS control, and whether the domain can be transferred independently of a Telegram account.

Given the choice, would you rather own a strong one-word .gram, or a weaker .com / .uk?

Someone has already paid $65,000 for the Telegram name @insta. This means they would be able to use the domain insta.gram if it all goes ahead 😆
