Yeah, many people say Google's search tool is inaccurate. Who in their right mind would search for yellow trousers?

Anyways, domain is still for sale. Will take £25 for it if anyone has a fetish for yellow trousers.

Yeah, but if you're building a keyword affiliate site, the fewer search results that are returned for your search term the better; means you have less 'competitors'.

Yes, less competitors for a term with a difficult to define number of searches.

I have a similar clothing site, in Google Keywords tools it shows 5,000 exacts a month, and surprisingly it makes about 50 sales a month, and its a 3 keyword long tail, if the searches for yellow trousers are true, then looking at the search results affiliate forums 4u is ranking for the post yellowtrousers.co.uk so this domain would probably rank #1 within a matter of days.

what a "pants" name sorry couldnt resist...

Just checked via my adwords panel while check some of recent reg's

Shows as the below

UK only 100 searches approx cpc $1.01
World 125 searches approx cpc $0.91

Rupert the Bear fans will be relieved to know that:

yellowcheckedtrousers.co.uk

is still available. :p

If you regged it, you could try and bring yellow checked trousers into fashion and corner the market, then trouser the profits.

Rgds

That's the thing with affiliate marketing, you find a niche that's unsaturated and develop it into a site that makes a little bit of money. As matty said, with some work, it could easily reach high up on page 1 and bring in traffic and hopefully some commission.

I'm not saying that yellowtrousers.co.uk is a good name, cos it's not, it's actually pish. But if you work on it, or any other keyword domain people think is not worth investing their time or money in, you could easily recoup your costs because no ones bothered to enter that market thus little competition. That's how you corner an untapped market. Simples.
