unfair terms in RoR dropcatcher's T&C

Tim, for what it’s worth (sadly very little), you come across well, seem to be honest, and imo deserve a cash refund. How the law sees things I do not know but hopefully you will keep us updated. Given that some comments on this thread imply there are laws about ‘reasonable contracts’ and the...

unfair terms in RoR dropcatcher's T&C

If I sold lottery tickets and someone came in and bought a stupid amount of tickets.. I would absolutely question as to whether they fully understood what they were buying and their chances of success. The comments here seem to be arguing the obvious points that people are no longer debating...

unfair terms in RoR dropcatcher's T&C

Another Acorn thread that has a bit of everything ! :) Neither of the 2 parties involved in this dispute have answered the obvious questions: - Tim, why did you ignore the obvious terms? I mean.. they are clear - you can't really complain. - Dropcatcher, why did you take Tim's money. I would...

    Email Address Prefixes

Ah. If it’s any consolation I think .im is better for the reasons mentioned above. How do you know you’ve never had any issues? ;)

    Email Address Prefixes

What do you mean? Are you referring to contact lists? If so, that still requires them to get it right the first time..

    Email Address Prefixes

Which extension? I ask because of.. Yeh. I feel like this is exactly why .co.uk/.uk have minimal value because of you don’t have both, you have nothing. I get emails which were they to go to the wrong extension would cost me enough to just buy the .com in the first place :P

    Registrations of available ROR domains

This may answer a question I just had. If a .UK I want has just been released today (and is available) I can not register it? Whois shows it as available but no registrar will let me buy it. Where is the info on this? I assume this is your service? Thanks

“Numb nuts they didn’t reg” awards

I mean.. there obviously a bias as most people here are invested in these things but at the start of the year I enquired about the .co.uk/.uk market here. I opted to stay well away and 6 months on I am extremely happy with that decision. Respectfully, there isn’t a market for any UK extension...

“Numb nuts they didn’t reg” awards

I am sure that the owners of Manchester.co.uk are massive portfolio holders - I am sure I've heard the name Europress before. How did they not register it??!

Hi, I'm standing for the Nominet elected Non Executive Director role this year

This is literally just a “vote for me” thread. You haven’t explained why and you have ignored lots of (what I consider to be) reasonable questions..

The state of the UK namespace.

True. The name(s) in question are for sale in principle but are at end user prices. It’s just that whilst I have what I believe to be a good idea, I don’t traditionally consider myself an end user. Even if I did, it is not clear how much is reasonable to pay. Ha. I will do. Out of interest...

The state of the UK namespace.

For some additional context. I am a developer. There are a few names that I want which are actual premium names. Based on reported sales and the general apparent state of the market I think that the names are overpriced but as an end user of sorts I am trying to gauge the extent to which...

The state of the UK namespace.

Hi all. I run a software company which has historically had a lot of exposure to domain names and the markets that exist for them. Historically we have predominantly built products on .com domains and have had good success with this. Recently we have been investigating a large play in the UK...
