123-reg price change for .org

Hi there,

wanted to give a heads up in the forums that 123-reg will in early July look to change the price of .org .info .mobi .tel domains from £9.99 / year to £10.99 / year for single domain registrations. The normal discounts apply (as per .com) for multiple registrations.

Anyone within the forum with these extensions at 123-reg can log in now and renew domains at the current price within their control panel, for 1 to 9 years, saving on the price increase.

This was triggered with the change earlier this year of .com and .net prices at the registry and the price change due in July for .org.

As a note, I changed the renewal pages earlier this year, around May 1st, to allow renewal of domains not just within the next 90 days, but for all domains within the portfolio.

I don't expect this post to be popular, but feel the forums here have helped me a lot with 123-reg and wanted to offer something in return.

There are plenty of good TLD registers out there…. Most have option to auto renew , Options for paypal etc that don’t automatically set up auto renews, live help desks, 24 hr seven day a week full support, more name controls, charge around the mid £4 to £7 incl VAT/Taxes and cheaper with discount codes unlike 123 reg . ... Just to even up the post

http://www.namecheap.com/ does them for US$9.69 a year including free domain privacy. That's about £6.20. I've never seen a UK-based registrar that's competitive on global extensions. If nothing else, VAT kills it.
