123-reg rated 4.5 stars out of 5? #confused

It's not "go after 123-reg day" for me BTW it's just something I noticed after the last post. 123-reg say they get 4.5 stars out of 5.

hmmm ok lets Google that: "123 reg reviews". I can't find an aggregated figure higher than 3.2 and that's across 900 reviews on reviewcentre.com.

This rating is taken from the Google Seller ratings, which Google calculate according to their own formula. You can see these here:

thankfully the consumer is far more likely to search for "123reg reviews" and see the score they should be seeing.

Hello,

To expand, the reason why the Google seller rating differs from the Review Centre rating is because of the way in which they are calculated. The 3.2 star rating Review Centre is the average rating for all reviews that have been posted, which goes back to 2005/06.

However according to their own formula, Google only takes reviews, from both Review Centre and some other review websites, from the last 12 months.

I hope this helps to explain the difference that is seen.
