Cute and everything and it shows them in a good light but I'm just a cynic.

Pure marketing ploy, they wouldnt have done it if there cameras weren't there to film it for their own advert.

I wonder if they deliberately delayed the flight to make sure that there weren't any other customers at baggage claim...?

I can't imagine the people who slept at Manchester Airports etc for 2 days being quite as delighted to get a top hat as compensation...

You lot are are hard audience!

From a marketing pov its worked though - very cheap way to get your brand in front of almost 500k people (so far) and to paint it in a brilliant light!

I recon someone at Spanair marketing will be getting a nice bonus.

Indeed, fair do's to them for a good advert that will pull on heart strings.

Have you seen the T-Mobile ad with them singing at the airport, my Mrs gets weepy at that the soppy cow.

These kind of ads are powerful enough to get people to switch brand loyalty.
