Resolution 2 asks as to vote for or against the appointment of Grant Thornton as the Company's auditors in place of the current auditor.

Does anybody know why the current auditor is not being retained? On what basis are Grant Thornton being recommended to us, i.e. are they cheaper, more professional, better at advising Nominet on saving money etc.

Thanks
Stephen.

FWIW, I understand that The Audit Committee review Nominet's audit arrangements every 3 years. (You can see The Audit Committee's role on Page 22 of the accounts.)

A local Oxford firm "Critchleys" was appointed in 2003 to replace "Wenn Townsend". In the 3 years since, Nominet's audit requirements have changed and not least of all because taxation arrangements have become more complex (partly because of increases in tax law complexity). As a result of their recent review, The Audit Committee seem to feel a change of auditors is appropriate and, I would assume, because they have the experience to deal with the increased complexities of taxation.

I am sure Nominet will be happy to respond to any member questions on the accounts at the forthcoming AGM, they always have been in the past.
