Is there a risk that it's a trademarked name?

I know that it's where I buy all my golf gear...

Thanks Phil.

As you are aware Domainlore undertake a strict checking process before accepting domains, and their Auction rules clearly say that they do not accept TM domains. AmericanGolf.org.uk was obviously acceptable and passed their testing procedure.

I believe that the business you are referring to operates as American Golf Discount Centre Ltd.

Thanks for the interest,

All the best to you,
Chris

Hmmmm. The fact is though that all those local exacts are people looking for the company, however you try and justify the name.

Thanks for doing that. :) I now understand where you garnered the 135,000 figure from. It's 135,000 exact searches for "american golf", but not "americangolf.org.uk", right? Could you tell us the number of exacts for "americangolf.org.uk" through the same process, please?

Are you joking?

If you aren't, use the Google Keyword Tool.

Since when did anyone on Acorn quote exact match searches for the full domain name? And moreover what use is that? Assuming it's nor a brand or major trafficked website - all keyword tool results for domains would be zero?

I still can't tell if you're kidding or not.

Thanks for everybody’s interest in this one. Life is always throwing out positive opportunities and this is surely one. Whether you do something about golf courses in America, or American golfers, or golfing holidays in the States, the choice is up to your imagination. Either way, according to Google, there are 135,000 searching for ‘American Golf’ each month, for whatever reason, and that’s a large potential customer base for you to be working with already!

I am sure many of you will agree that this name is worth £50, but who’s going to be brave enough to bid?! The auction finishes Monday.

Cheers, Chris.

It's generic so can't but took off the owner easily unless he displays similar logos etc of the the other site.

PMSL, I have seen a good few TMs on there including very obvious ones

Although it's been established on here (Acorn) that a surprisingly large number of people search for domains / phrases including the prefix, it's still safe to assume that the majority of web users don't. So why would you want to know GKT results including the prefix?
