When will the American public wake up and realise that these kinds of tragedies will continue to be commonplace until their government cracks down on the country's ridiculously liberal gun laws?

Of course I and everyone else is sorry for what happened, but it seems to be every other year there's a school shooting or something similar in the US. Nothing ever changes.

Yes, Britain has its own crime problems, but mass shootings are very rare because of our tight gun laws.

The right to bear arms should have died with the Wild West. What's next...the right to own slaves?

Cheers,

Ed

The right to bear arms is a 2nd amendment right:
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"

Basically although it may seem primitive it was an element of law that protected/protects people/country against invasion/attack to some degree.

I'm not necessarily for this right but understand it. Very sad what happened.

Once you've got widespread legal ownership of guns like that, you can't take it away. As you'll just have a situation where every single robber, drug dealer and scumbag will have a gun, but the normal people won't have them to defend themselves with...

Changing those laws at this point would be absolutely pointless. There is no real prospect of a massive portion of the american public accepting that, and handing their guns back anyway.

Why does it look like part of the building collapsed ?

Thought it was a shooting and not a bomb ?

Which is fine, but DONT plaster the news in the UK with pointless "women gets shot in America" headlines.

Its not news.
