No problems here, and I'm sure that if it was site-wide there'd be more complaints. Have you got your browser set to expire cookies after a certain time?

nope using firefox and its set to except cookies until they expire

Try deleting the Acorn cookies and restarting.

If I'm logged in and go to do something else on another site, have dinner or whatever, when I come back, I have to login again, it's been like that since I joined here, so no big deal. Sometimes I view the who's online page as that page auto refreshes and leaves me logged in.
