Here are a few sources of information about baby first names in the UK. Perhaps somebody will find them useful when researching domains, whether to register from scratch or to buy from third parties.
Baby boy names (1996-2015) in England and Wales
There's an Excel format dataset for each year, and one of the tabs in the Excel sheet (can't be more specific than that as the format changes year to year) contains a count of all the babies born that year with a given first name. (A count is provided for all names with 3 or more instances that year)

Baby girl names (1996-2015) in England and Wales

I guess if you went to the bother of collating the data for every year from 1996 to 2015 you'd have a very good idea of the total popularity of a particular first name over the last 20 years!
