If Nominet have too much cash as a 'not for profit organisation', then they ought to reduce their fees for all sorts of things, new registrations, TAG Transfers via their online systems etc.

It might be useful to actually think about ideas for using the funding. It's like the National Lottery for Geeks.

I'm not sure what stipulations there are at present, but I'm sure there are NW based initiatives that could benefit.

There are strict rules for NFPs to stick to, so the money needs to be offloaded somehow. It's hard to imagine so much 'profit' sitting in Nominet's bank account before September 2004 when Willie Black handed in his resignation, as i understand he was a passionate advocate of NFP (domain) organisations!

Not sure about Mr Gilbert's view on things, he doesn't seem to say much at all.
