Okay. Question for some of the peeps that know about advertising targeting / cookies etc.

I bought a domain today, via methods that could only be described as personal network. I happened to do a nominet who is on a domain earlier this week and discover it was owned by someone who does stuff for a mutual client. I contacted them. They sold it to me. All done over email. My email is personal domain... no gmail, yahoo whatever and on my own server ( although shared )

I just logged into Facebook to be hit with what can ony be described as an advert by someone selling a pretty much exact keyword domain ( although further down the pecking order in terms of hyphens etc if that makes sense) Now I know i did some keyword searches via google as i have a search extension that gives cps , search volume etc. But seriously .. coincidence or serious sharing ? Im a bit gobsmacked by how targetted this was, and its certainly nothing i had even vaguely gone near previously on FB.

Today was the day all the email traffic happened other than one to our mutual client previously in the week and then today get hit by advert the moment i log into FB.

Thanks @Edwin. Knew about tracking pixels etc but this just seemed very very specific and timely. Most of any related messages were also not even on the laptop but my phone. Could just be coincidence I guess as im sure I get tracked for domain stuff in general.
