For a long time I have owned xmlfeed.co.uk. I've never had an offer. I think you'll find it similarly difficult to sell your name. Software companies will use brand names instead.

You are probably right. Don't you think they might benefit from the keywords and the tld securing their place as the UKs go to company for this type of business.

In the grand scheme of making a big data sale, it would give only a fractional advantage, which is why it won't be easy to sell the name. You don't see big data platforms being advertised on TV, the marketing isn't necessary / appropriate.
