Box Set / TV Shows

Would anyone like to recommend a new TV series for me to start watching? To give you an idea of my taste, I have just watched the complete series of

1 - Sons of Anarchy
2 - The Wire
3 - Boardwalk Empire

All fantastic in their own right but now im at a loose end and dont know where to turn my attention to next. I have tried Breaking Bad but couldn't get into it.

Is 24 worth a watch? Perhaps the Shield?

Yes Game of Thrones is one of the best I've ever seen.

Or the walking dead.

Not "new" but if you like scifi and haven't seen them, then...

- Firefly (warning: was cancelled "before its time" but concluded in movie "Serenity")
- Battlestar Galactica (the remake; start with the mini-series, then there are 4 more full-length series)
- Farscape (several series, then there's an extended straight to DVD movie that rounds things off)

Or if you like geeky comedy:
- Big Bang Theory
- Community

Others
- Prison Break (got gradually worse and worse, but was great at its best) <- probably closest fit to the example shows you mentioned, at least from my list!
- Spooks (but you've almost certainly seen that given that it was a UK show)

Agree with all that have been mentioned so far a friend of mine recently suggested breaking bad and I'm enjoying that. The last season isn't finished yet so my not be for you if you want to watch in one go.

Right, I will download the Game of Thrones and see how that plays out.

Edwin, Bing Bang Theory is great but its something you can (and I do) watch on an episode by episode basis. I like to immerse myself for 3 or 4 epiodes at once. I can see that Firely was cancelled after 11 of the 14 episodes were showen, how odd! I will take a look at that one too.

Darren, The Sopranos was fanstatic viewing and I thought I would honestly never watch something so engrossing again BUT then I caught the Wire and it blew it out of the water.

Any others out there?

Yes the Sopranos was amazing couldnt stop watching it, not finished The Wire yet think im on season 4.

I just started watching Breaking Bad - enjoying that too.

- Dollhouse (cancelled after 2 series, but there is also a 2 part epilogue set in the "distant future" of the show that shows what happened in the end)
- Jericho (cancelled after 2 series, but reaches a conclusion of sorts)

Crime
- Castle (already mentioned on this thread; light-hearted)
- The Mentalist

Other
- Las Vegas (jumped the shark pretty early, but fun if you want to see the unrealistic-but-mega-rich side of Las Vegas life)

Already been suggested I see but..

I love Prison Break, especially the first series, I've watched every episode of the first series probably 5/6 times.

Also Game Of Thrones, I was late to it, started watching it after the second series had finished but I ended up watching the first and second series in one weekend it was so good.
