a friend of mine is starting a site for charity and asked me if i had any advice for marketing, accepting donations etc. Can anyone with any ideas or experience in this let me know please so i can pass it on.

For donations be aware of:

http://www.justgiving.com/

which provides the donation service in return for taking a commission. It makes setting up the donations simple although possibly more expensive than doing it yourself using Paypal, WorldPay or similar.

There is the tax relief people can claim on donations therby increasing amounts received.
