DL Sale: yt.co.uk (1,100 GBP)

For DL and the state the current .uk 'is it going to happen - is it not' calamity I'd say the price if not spot on was actually a little high. 12 - 18 months ago you could have easily been looking at 2-2.5k

There is no way I'd have paid £1100 for a non .uk qualifying random 2 letter .co.uk until Nominet clarify whether or not these ones are going to be treated differently due to the launch dates.

It was a steal regardless of any Nominet nonsense.

You're getting a good deal up front.

What about the payment later on when you put a major brand on it, yt.org.uk is handed yt.uk and then they gouge you for £10k+ for it? You're going to have no real choice but to pay up.

monkey if the buyer did not want to pay that amount for it they would not have bid that amount!

good luck to the buyer I hope it works out well for them.

Obviously the buyer is happy, and great for them. Is a forum about sold domain prices not for exactly this reason though - to discuss what we think of the sale prices :)

I think there was the suggestion that LLs would be handled differently. couk LL auctions grossed more and we're more valuable. Unfair if not treated differently as orguks were scheduled earlier by nom... Surely they have to don't they?

One could reasonably assume that it would be ethically-challenging to the extreme if this were not the case. But that doesn't appear to be a stumbling block to the bland and indifferent Nominet regimen...
