It might be admin that's causing it, he said he's doing some testing here:

I see from the who's online that some people are showing as logged in but their last activity was at 2:00am this morning. I've just been away from my computer for a while, it usually logs me out when I'm away, but not doing so at the moment. So it might just be that's it's now showing all who have logged in over a 24 hour period?
